Bishop Suriel Podcast | Episode 01 Part 1 with Metropolitan Serapion: Celebrating 25 Years of Ministry in Los Angeles
Metropolitan Serapion ~ Up Close And Personal
Recounting stories is central to being human. Join H.G. Bishop Suriel as he examines what it looks likes to have a culture telling the most important story in history. The Coptic Church of Egypt is the earliest Christian church in the world, going back to around 42 AD. If a near 2000 years old church doesn’t nurture a culture where the bible is allowed to form the community, then living out God’s will is near impossible. The key to this Wednesday podcast is taking root now in telling the story of how the Coptic Church took root then and now. It is a lively discussion for everyone to enjoy and benefit from about this generation of emerging adults and how they view life and spirituality, and what this means for Christianity. In this Wednesday’s podcast, H.G. Bishop Suriel accompanied with a cup of coffee, and his omnipresent microphone starts reflecting on His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion as he celebrates his Silver Jubilee this year.

I thought that it is extremely important to crown this podcast with a four-part series with His Eminence. In the next two episodes, namely episodes #01 and #02 we will hear about his early life and about those who influenced him in his study and early religious life. Bishop Suriel | Coptic Podcast
His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion has led the Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii faithfully over the past 25 years. He has served with great wisdom and zeal. His Eminence’s vision is remarkable and distinguished with innovation, while at the same time preserving the faith and tradition of the Coptic Church. This man of God places the pastoral needs of his flock as a top priority in his ministry. His great emphasis on both religious and theological education is evident. As the former auxiliary bishop in Egypt for Public, Ecumenical and Social Services, he has not neglected this ministry in Los Angeles. His Eminence established the Department of Diakonia, led by Bishop Abraham to continue the work in LA. He also established the Department of Education, led by Bishop Kyrillos to advance religious and theological education.
