“If I can give a brief spoiler – your problems aren’t unique. There are other people going through the exact same thing.” Finding Your Story | The Avenger
You need a story. A story that really defines how you found out that God is Love, but more than that, that God loves you.
My younger self would contemplate on this, in despair, thinking I had nothing. I needed a story, I story that made me special from all the others. A story that showed me that I was unique and special. I had no idea what my story was, maybe God hadn’t showed me yet.
I remember praying this so distinctly because I remember it every time I see the Hand of God at work. In my mind, I wanted my problems to be unique. No one has been through what I have been through, and no one will understand what I am going through.
I forget the key Character, without whom, there could be no story. I forget that He was incarnate, died and rose, so that I would never feel alone though the storms rage on. My story is in Him, and through Him. I fall deeper in love with my Saviour so much that others fall in love with Him too.
If I can give a brief spoiler – your problems aren’t unique. There are other people going through the exact same thing. Those closest to you are most likely to be going through the same thing. The issue is that when it comes to our problems, our weaknesses, our insecurities, we don’t like to talk about them very much. The world we live in is not as creative as we give it credit for.
The best way to overcome any problem is to be there for those that are going through something similar. If you’re feeling lonely, make friends with the kid that is sitting by themself, not the popular kids you wish you were!
This is where I introduce the Avenger: Stories of capeless heroes. By far, my absolute favourite way of defining your own story. This is so simple, it is not the overcomplication that the mind creates when faced with a new problem. Others feel the same way you do, and the best to overcome is to be there for someone going through the same thing.
How will you become the Avenger?
The Avenger: Stories of Capeless Heroes
If I want to be a hero, I must decrease, so He may increase. The Avenger: Stories of Capeless Heroes. I can be a capeless hero too, for I have the Greatest Treasure and Strength by my side.
